AN OVERVIEW:
Our 18 member
board is the back bone of our church.
It is divided into three commissions:
Nurture, Witness, and Stewards. Each
Commission is called upon (or commissioned -
hence the name) to handle a certain aspect
of our church's life (see
below). They elect a chair person
that also serves on the Executive Committee,
which oversees the ministries of our Church.
The entire board also elects the Executive
Committee chair. There are also three
non-voting members: the pastor, the
treasurer, and the secretary.
The board is also under the authority of the
entire body of church members (called the
Council). Council meetings are held
twice a year, and are open to all members.
These meetings are a time to communicate,
share, and ask questions. Ultimately,
the Council meetings are held to seek the
guiding of the Holy Spirit in our church.
